Weekend Tripping

Ratchet, Eugene, Joe and Myself met up at the crack of noon to pack the bikes and go for a little weekend ride out to the quarries in Indiana.
Joe's battery took a shit about 50 miles out of town so we spent the next 5 hours in this laundromat parking lot.

Indiana pizza turned out to be pretty tasty.
Eugene entertaining me and Ratchet while Joe fiddles with his juiceless joyride.
By the time we got squared away night had fallen and it made for a really nice night ride through the Indiana backroads. Then Ratchet ran dry so we ponied up a little fuel from all the tanks to get him a few miles to the campground. By the time we got there I ran out about 100 feet from the campsite. No matter though, we made it to the quarry, got naked and swam like school children. The perfect way to end a day of riding.
Come morning, Eugene loaded up on Joe's gas and headed into town to fill up and grab some jugs of juice for our machines.
Canadian Hunter and friend joined our late night partakings.
Hot as blazes, so we packed 'em and fueled 'em before a hike into the quarries.

Joe off in his own world as usual. Joe is a great friend and a total trip. When he's around shit is more interesting and just plain better.

Perfect 500 mile weekend. Started off a little slow but turned into a really nice couple of days on the road. The Minnow ran as though she was two days late for the spawn and just wouldn't quit. I am so pleased with the motor and bike in general. It would've been nice if a couple of others were able to make it out but I wouldn't change a minute of it. Thanks for the good times friends.

What a night.

I drew fuckin monsters all day and wanted this night to fade away. It was raining like hell when I went into my other work tonight. Slippin and slidin in every fuckin intersection like I was on ice. My bike is a fuckin death trap in the rain. I had my usual bullshit fuckin rain gear on-- you know- full face helmet, gloves, jacket all the goddamn bullshit that safety minded motherfuckers wear just to take a shit every mornin. Anyway, I get to work and it takes me 20 minutes to get out of my monkey suit and get ready for a night at the door---a 6 hour, grueling mind fuck of pure D, chillin' the fuck out. Man, workin the door at The Village Tap is exactly what I need these days. Lettin' douche bag after douche bag in on purpose to let them hang out with some really cool people tucked away inside. Enough of that bullshit.

The night is almost over and I'm getting visions of me sittin' after work in front of my computer posting old, tired, sketches of mine because I haven't drawn new , personal shit in weeks. Those visions are quickly shattered when I see Genius and Ratchet pull up in front of The Tap on their choppers, looking like they just rode in from the Gulf Coast. This night could turn out pretty fuckin cool.

And you know what? It did. So now I post something to share with you but no fuckin pictures because Brian- who has a brand new, bitchen camera and can't take a shot, worth fuckin about, to save his ass- isn't with us.

I send a quick text to my woman because she fuckin rocks and I listen to Marshall Tucker and shut this shit down.
Oh and here is an old tired drawing.

Fuck ya

Joe and the Road

Joe's been on the road pretty much since he wrapped up his Honda chop a couple of months ago. I get a call every few days about how the eagle has led him to another crazy swimming hole or back yard ramp off in the woods. The latest call was from Kentucky and he told me about this shop that got him back on the road and also had more parts than he'd ever seen. He sent over some pics and I think a ride to Kentucky is now in order.

That's Alright And That's Ok

75 degrees out and perfect tonight so I took the minnow out for a solo cruise. Ended up at a little bar in the old neighborhood, had a few beers and kissed a girl I shouldn't have been kissing. Dropped the bike back off at the shop and jumped in china white (my truck) for the ride home. Put on some Pegboy and took a little trip down memory lane.

In '95 I moved to San Diego and fell in with a girl that had a couple of kids. Ended up moving in after a bit and loved every second with the kids but hated most with her. Anyway, this lasted for a couple of years and she used to get me fired up so I'd get in my truck and drive around town listening to Pegboy and reminiscing about all my buddies and the times we had back east that meant so much more to me than anybody or anything that I had found living in SD. I think it just came down to having history, the funny thing is that now I listen to Pegboy and think about driving around the streets of San Diego and how much I miss those times. I guess you always miss what you don't have or that's just the great thing about memories.

Must've been a STRONG REACTION.

Ticks and Leeches

Minnow come home

Put a new generator and battery in the Minnow tonight and made everything right. Rode up to the Orbit Room with Mitch and Eugene for some supper and decided to go for a ride. Ended up getting on the freeway for about 20 miles and doing a turn around. Up to this point I'd been taking it easy heading up stream but tonight The Minnow really put on the spin. The greatest Walleye in Wisconsin couldn't have caught us.

When I sent my motor and trans up to Bacon for the rebuild he asked me how I wanted to run, and after doing a bunch of miles with his knuckle and seeing his ease of high speeds I told him "just like your Knuckle". Wasn't blown away by the power around town but tonight she came to life. Leaning and burning through the big rigs and suv's and barely feeling like I'm into fourth gear. Just tucked in and let her rip. Best ride in a long time with two guys that made it even better. Smiles for miles.

Got back to the shop and couldn't get enough so we took another spin and headed back to the Lodge to put 'em in the livewell. I threw in an old pic I posted early on of Mitch and myself on last seasons versions of both of our bikes. It keeps feeling better every mile, every year. Gonna take her up to the woods in Michigan this week, run a treble hook and see what she can really do.

On-Line dating

So me and Ratchet were sitting around the grill with Lis and her girls discussing on-line dating and my need for a profile. Ratchet referred back to an earlier conversation we were having and came up with my profile header.

"In the roadhouse of life. I'll be your Dalton."

Really excited to get this underway and find true love once and for all.

Donuts and Family

Bag O Donuts came down on Friday night for a weekend of good timing with friends and family.
The Minnow getting a charge for some up stream swimming.
Donuts and Sabrina catching up with Rob "you have a friend in metal" Hultz and Sean.
Drinks at the Matchbox with Genarro.
Eugene borrowing Sean's shovel for a ride out.
Turbo, Remis and his gal Hillary getting ready for a scoot.
Eugene bringing the shovel to life.

Turbo on his ripping evo sporty.
Donuts and crackerfires. Great weekend of hanging out and riding with old friends. Always great to see the bag o donuts and even better getting to do some riding together. Topped the weekend off with a Sweet Cobra show at the Beat Kitchen and some Lake Shore Drive cruising. Love ya Donuts, see you soon. Nice and mellow City weekend, a few miles, a few drinks and a few good friends.
