Tales From The Road

...and there will be many from this one - Gene and Brian claim that Tahoe, is where it's at.

Brother

One of my most favorite albums of all time. This album came out while I was stationed in North Dakota way back in the day and the Grand Forks radio station there played the hell out of it all the time - many different cuts-by request. When they came to town to play live- they packed the fuckin house- Grand Forks loved these guys. I stood right in front to get my face seared off - they were bitchen live. Towards the end of the show they played one of my all-time favorite Skynyrd songs - "On The Hunt". Audley Freed is a bad mother on guitar and Kelly Holland's vocals fit this music like a glove. These dudes need to get back together and cut another album.

Rock and Roll

Riders ready.... watch the lights...................

time for the drags

A Text From The Road

Heading into the Rockies in Wyoming, Snapped the neck on a frame. No worries our new pal Charlie hooked us up with a truck and an insane shop. Making a gusset now then they're taking us to the drag races. Oh, and gettin high as shit___ Brian.

Don't Ask......

.......how many miles it is from Cody Nebraska to Chicago

Best Day of my Life

I talked to Brian today. He stated that Today was the Best Day of his Life. Good friends, sun filled Nebraska miles, small towns, a lake to camp next too which also sets beside a rodeo and beans cooking on the fire.

It was a slow start but all the kinks seem to be hashed out and the wake up call from the four sheriff deputies was a little unpleasant but things are better then ever expected.

My heart hurts but I'm glad my friends are having the time of their lives.

Japan does it right.

Tightening up the last chord

On Tuesday I met up with the guys as they were tightening up their bikes for the long haul. I could feel the anticipation rolling off of them. On Wednesday we eat some Arts then they headed in a westerly direction.

Brian's Decals arrived at the last minute..... this changes everything....

Rob showed up in the back of a truck. His carb took a shit.

How to.....

......Turn your bike into a smoking apparatus. Watch those gas fumes boys.

We helped Turbo with a last minute sissy bar.

Cali Or Bust

Things might be lookin a little rough for the guys headin West-- but Brian assured me that spirits are high and they managed to score a campground by a lake in Iowa with a nice Kushy canopy to muster the storm overnight.

Gilby Clarke

I was surprised when Gilby contacted me stating that he was on tour and would be in Chicago playing a show. I couldn't believe he was already going full bore after his motorcycle accident back in January. Some dipshit pulled out in front of him then left the scene of the accident and now refuses to admit that he was in fact the one involved. Gilby had just finished his pan and was riding it home from it's first show when this took place. He was left with a totaled Bike and two totaled legs. Anyway he is back on stage doing what he does best. On Tuesday I headed to the south side to check out his show.

Gilby has be rocking stages around the world since the 80's. He has been in such bands has Candy, Kill For Thrills, Guns N Roses, Slash's Snake Pit, Supernova and of course his Gilby Clarke Solo Records. He has also played Guitar for MC5, Heart and Nancy Sinatra

and has produced many including The Bronx, LA Guns and Alice Cooper to name a few.

Check him out here and here

It was good seeing you Gilby...... and remember..... You ain't shit if you don't limp.....

Farewell my Friends

I made it into Chicago to see my friends off. Brian, Eugene, Tony Bag O Donuts, Kevo and turbo all left the city for California at about 12:30 this afternoon. I must say that I was so bummed to not be able to make this trip. It was the first time I've had to watch my friends pull away without me. I wish them the best.

I've heard it said...

Weed grows on trees in California.

Now it's done

Hoodlums Party.

If at all possible I will make to Burlington Wi. for the Hoodlums CC Party. Glen knows how to throw a party. Great people, sweet cars, some cool bikes and the perfect environment.
