Lake Tahoe

So the whole ride west Tony kept telling us that he's got a friend working at a camp in Lake Tahoe and that we have a cabin and some hot meals waiting for us. The road was long and time was running out for Born Free but the jokes of fat camp and ski school drove our curiosity to the next level so we pushed for the great lake in the sky. As we were getting close Tony got a call from his friend Ruth who said there's beer on ice, hot meals and a bunch of chics that wanna meet us. "no fucking way man" was the reply followed by more fat camp jokes.

Turns out the camp is owned by a certain Ivy League Alumni Association and only the staff would be there for a few days leaving us to the hottest cabin on the lake. Sure enough we wound the bikes down a one laner for about five miles where we were greeted with stone gates and the smiles of coeds who have been stuck on a mountain for six months. We rode to the top of wheelie hill where our cabin was already in full swing. I won't go into details but the concept of shooting fish in a barrel comes to mind.

We woke up to a perfect view of the lake and a group of young ladies eager to show us what kind of meals were served at the fine establishment. After the chef made us our omelets to order and we grabbed some coffee to go we loaded up for a trip to the waterfall, the only luggage being that of tanned thighs and schoolgirl shrieks as we ripped up the mountain. While sitting back and taking it all in I brought up the lack of enthusiasm for our arrival in the eyes of the male coworkers while we were at breakfast. One of the girls interrupted the conversation with a quote that sums up the overall experience, "you guys came in and did in 20 minutes what they've been trying to do for six months".

After two more hot meals we decided we were no longer in a hurry and logged a couple more nights. Honestly, at this point we actually had the discussion of not even going to Born Free but were soon reminded by a senior staff member(male) that Alumni were on there way for the weekend and that we needed to get back on the road.

Ruth, you are an angel and your gal pals really know how to show a guy a good time. See you next summer.

You ever feel like your in a David Mann painting?

the only ingredient we were missing on that leg of the trip was brad. not only is he a ladies man, but all that free chocolate milk would have blown his mind.
