Found this guy under my bike while he was still gasping for pollen filled air. Looked like he was trying to do sit-ups with a broken back, so I gently placed the tip of my thumb and forefinger to his tiny face and stole his last breath to keep him from misery. I carefully placed his body between a bungee cord and my sissy bar, unfortunately only one tattered wing remained when I got home. I went back and looked for the rest of him but it was too late, he was gone forever. Now I live with this painful memory of stolen life and in order to recover my spirits I have shellacked his wing to my gas cap in hopes of forgiveness.
Hopefully this will remind us all that we aren't alone on the road, and I know that for me personally I would sooner lay down the bike than steal the life of another winged creature of any kind that may be in my path. Hopefully you ALL feel the same way.
Man, that's heavy. Except for the wing. I imagine it's pretty light.
ReplyDeletethere are usually moths and flies glued to my face after riding into the unknown...does that count?
